Old Days

My Grandparent's, Blue and Dooley Hodges were one of the first families to move to Lake Mohave Ranchos arriving in 1958. They lived in their airstream trailer while their home was being built. The first year Mt. Tipton Elementary/ k - 8 was opened about 1967 or 68 my brother and I (1st & 2nd grade started there. My Grandparents by this time were owners of a bar across the highway from the Ranch club. Those days were some of the happiest memories I have, going swimming at the Ranch Club, The Rodeos, playing pool with the cowboys and doing homework at the back booth of my Grandparents bar, BUYING GROCERIES AT THE Gozos Grocery store, Waiting for the water truck to fill up the big water tower at the house. Horseback riding and being in Mrs. Nelson's 1 - 3 classroom. |
